Inn badaltey lamho mein- A song

Introduction:

In badaltey lamho mein

Ek badalti tasveer toh hain

Lekin waqt ke palatatey panno pe

Kuch cheharey ab bhi badaley nahi hain

Pahuch gaye hain chand par lekin

Taare ab bhi duur hi hain

Haryali lehalahati toh hain dharti pe

Par sapno ke rang poore khiley nahi hain

Waqt hain ab yeh sununey ka

Kya kehatey hain iss dharati ke bol

Uthey toh hain tez raftaar kadam musafir

Ab dekho mann ki aankhey khol

Chorus 1:

Aaj ki pehachan tumse hi hain

Kal ki raftaar tumse hi hain

Desh ke dil mein tumhi toh ho

Toh ab rago mein khoon banke baho

Inqlab ki chingari bankar

Choti si lau ko aag kar do

Dil mein dabe hain armaan jo

Unn sapno ko bhi mumkin kar lo

Intezaar mein hain raastey

Tayyar khadi hain manzilein

Toh saath mein le lo humsafaron ki toli

Dil karlo ek, chahey alag ho boli

Chorus 2:

Aaj ki pehachan humse hi hain

Kal ki raftaar humse hi hain

Desh ke dil mein hum hi toh hain

Toh kyu na rago mein lahoo banke bahey

Reprise:

Chaand mila toh kya

Taarey toh hain baaki

Safar lamba hain maana

Magar himmat bhi toh hain baaki

Chant:

Toh shuru toh karo

Ab mumkin hain

Koshish toh karo

Sab mumkin hain

Himmat toh karo

Dum hum mein hain.

Watan key tu sun le bol

Intezaar mein hain voh baahein khol

Watan pukarta hain humein

Kal ka har pal aaj mein hain

Mumbai aur main- A poem

Aaknh khuli toh sapna toota

Dil ka connection dimaag se choota

Ek naye din ki dastak par

Hum nikaley ek naye safar par

Lakho ki bheed mein ek chehara apna bhi hain

Armano ki fehrisht mein ek irada apna bhi hain

Tanha nahi main

Saath hain ek humsafar aisa bhi

Ek suni si awaaj ki sohabat

Jisasey hujuum mein mila ek thikana bhi

Uss awaaj ki aad mein main

Kudata fandata, sapno ko sambhalta

Iss shehar ke gaddho ko langhta

Pahucha din ki pehali manzil ko

Waha khada ek naya sangram mila

Kashamakash ka ek sailab umada

Magar dil ne udhadey sapno ko sila

Aandhi mein bhi umeed ka deepak na bujha

Aur kahi se phir vohi awaaj

Iss shehar ki baarish ki tarah

Rom-rom mein utar gayi

Angdayi ki tarah libaas badal kar

Kuch yaaron ke beech pahuch

Mainey bhi ek cigarette jalayi

Chaupati par baithey baithey

Aati jaati leharon ko dekhatey

Ek soch si mann mein aayi

Koso safar karke leharey

Iss shehar se milney aati hain

Thukrata hain yeh shehar inhey

Lekin yeh himmat nahi harti hain

Toot kar choor ho jati hain chattano par

Magar phir bhi laut kar aati hain

Main bhi iss manaviya samundar ki lehar hi toh hu

Meri manzil yahi hain, mera safar bhi yahi

Iss hamesha bhagtey shehar ka

Ek pahiya main bhi toh hoon.

Thakawat se choor shareer ko jab

Ijajat di mainey araam ki

Ussi awaaj ki geharaiyo mein doob

Palkey sajaney lagi sapney fir kai

Terrorism has a face…- An Article

Terrorism has a face…

Look in to a mirror.

What makes a terrorist, A Terrorist?

Is it his/her genes? Is it his/her childhood dream? Is it to avenge the attrocities inflicted on his/her loved ones? Is it his/her religion? Is it the promise of a better tomorrow? Is it just plain misguidance? Is it the desire of material gains? Is it the fulfillment of spiritual pursuits? Is it a way to win the power game? Is it one of the million other reasons invented by ‘God’? Or is it the world, we have played a part in creating?

Some would say that the brainwashing of innocent kids. Still few will say systematic nurturing of the already existing hatred. There might be a small number of us who believe that it’s because of lack of education and excess of unemployment. But a majority will blame it on the religious ideologies of a particular sect.

Well… if kids can be brainwashed one way, why can’t the process be reversed? Why is there so much of hatred flowing around so freely? Why is education in such short supply and unemployment in surplus? And what God of what religion advocates the killing of innocent people?

We, all of us as a society, have and are still playing a very important part in the formation of a race that we later label as terrorist. Does anyone of us really care to ever find out the root of the problem? Things happen and then we are looking for someone who’ll take responsibility, someone to blame. You see blaming is a basic human nature. We say politicians are running a political racquet… who allowed them to? We did… by electing them. The power has always been in our hands, we chose to give it up, we chose to feel helpless about it and we chose to cry and blame. We are the ones who chose to ignore our responsibilities.

Terrorist are acting the way they are because probably they think that this is the only way they know how to make people listen to them. Why? Listen to what? Are we listening? And then, if we are, are we ready to do anything about it? Blaming the politicians, bureaucrats and defense & intelligence structures will not help.

You may ask, ‘what can we do? We have no power.’ Really? Before I start throwing examples at you, know one thing, the World belongs to us and we make it the way we want to; always have. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela changed the way the world thought. Ok let’s take it light, Sanath Jayasuria changed the way a game is played. Bill Clinton changed the way offices function. The first man to use a wheel revolutionized the way humans travelled. They were all just a face in the crowd before ‘They’ chose to stand apart, debate that!

We talk about killing the terrorist to end the terrorism. Is that the answer? When was the last time an idea was suppressed? Kill the idea, the seed that germinates and becomes a tree that bears the fruit of violence can’t be cut. Bombing a nation is definitely not the solution… Afghanistan is just dust and rubble but terrorism is stronger than ever! You hit them, they’ll hit you back… harder!

I am not attempting to give you a solution to terrorism; I am trying to raise the right questions. Maybe they will lead us to the right answers. I strongly condemn the killing of innocent people all over but more than that I condemn the situations which force innocent kids to willfully prepare themselves to die for such a worthless cause and take with them… so many.

A tribute to war- A poem

A tribute to WAR

Why do men have to go to war?

Why do they have to drift so far?

What is the point that they want?

Or is it the power that they flaunt?

No matter what, no matter how

The price paid, is not enough for now

Whether its victory or it is defeat

Futures will burn in infernal heat

Only the dead have seen the end

No matter how much we try and pretend

There will be defeat on every side

A defeat, no victory will ever hide.

People aren’t good, they aren’t bad

So how can one be happy while the other is sad

And when the raw reality uncovers

It’s more tragic than two parting lovers

All for what and what for all

Wasted for nothing, the brave will fall

Do not the brave also suffer?

Times like these are a lot rougher

“Tough times don’t last, tough men do”, they say

What for by the way?

To fight for one more day?

Men are not coward, they aren’t brave

Ask the soldier who lies in that unmarked grave

He didn’t die for a country, religion, fancy or whim

But for the person next to him

Who’s a father, a son, a brother, lover, just like him

Wanted to live, as much as him

He died coz, his comrades died for him

And see alas… what have we got

Dead bodies, unclaimed, that rot

But still we won’t stop

Until that very last blood drop

Without giving peace a chance, how can we tell

That our heaven is better than any hell.

The father’s dead, so is the son

Have I lost or have you won

The dead will never know the reason why

What exactly for did they die

What’s there to take, for heaven’s sake

Why destroy, what we can’t make

Will there ever be an end

I am the enemy you killed, MY FRIEND.
